"I went to see my friend in Vancouver so took two long haul flights. Both flights were 10 hours and a little turbulent so my anxiety was very high. I kept thinking of the quotes from the book. I absolutely love hearing both an anxious flyers point of view and a pilot's. Reading Roy's sections would give me a visceral experience of my flight anxiety, and then John's mellow and calming tone helped reassure me as he spoke in more detail about the plane and safety systems. Reading the anxiety FAQs at the end of each section really helped to calm me down and I kept referring to them on my flight. I love that it feels very conversational, just like sitting down with some friends. As someone who is very anxious in general, I think candid and sympathetic conversations around fear are far more helpful than just stating facts in a robotic way. One thing that was a game-changer for me is I usually feel 'lucky' that my plane landed safely, but I now understand it's totally normal so I think this is helping me re-shift my perspective on flying."

JOHN DIGGORY
A retired Pilot and Training Standards Captain, dutiful husband, proud father to three and hands-on grandad to six.
In addition to his love of travel, John is a Jaguar owner and enthusiast. He enjoys fine dining, table tennis and playing games with his grandchildren.
"When Roy suggested writing this book together, I thought that it was a great opportunity to do something together and to share my passion and reassurance with those who find plane travel difficult. I have always loved flying and I hope that my years of experience and insider knowledge can help others to really understand how safe it is to fly."

ROY DIGGORY
Head of Product and Learning Development, NLP practitioner, Life Coach, husband and father to three girls.
Despite his previous fear of flying, Roy loves to visit new places and he has travelled to many parts of the world, for work and for fun.
Roy also enjoys reading, writing, travel blogging, playing and creating Music, coaching and watching football, visiting theme parks and running (including several marathons).
"The original book was going to be 'Third Time Lucky' as I am the third and luckiest Roy in the family. The two other Roys lost their lives in plane crashes. It is no wonder I developed an intense fear of flying, following several scary flights.
Being able to live with and manage this fear of flying is so important because I love to travel and there are a lot more places on my bucket list.
